4th of July

The 4th of July is Mellen’s biggest celebration of the year!  Join us for all of the activities. Closer to the big day/weekend, the 4th of July Committee publishes the final schedule of events so everyone can take advantage of the fun. The schedule can be found on this website, in the Mellen Weekly-Record (the local paper), around the City of Mellen, and posted online at https://www.facebook.com/cityofmellen/. It is also the time of year for class reunions.

Class Reunions for 2026

Class of 1951 – 75th Class Reunion! Class members and friends of the class are invited to meet and reminisce of high school days and share the news of the past 75 years. We will meet at the Mellen Fire Hall at 10 a.m. on July 4th. We urge you to come and share while there are still some of still left to share. Can’t wait to see everyone!

Class of 1976 – 50th Class Reunion! Everyone is invited. If you were a part of our class for one year, two years, or the entire time, this reunion is for you! Come reconnect, reminisce and catch up with familiar faces. When? July 4th at the Mellen Golf Course from 3-5 p.m. Please share this with classmates. Looking forward to seeing you!

Class of 1981 – 45th Class Reunion! Our reunion will be Friday, July 3rd at Dusty’s starting at 3:00 p.m. Please share this to all of our classmates! Hope to see you there!

5:00 pm – Volleyball Tournament & Great American Grill Out at Dusty’s Bar

Time TBA – Mellen Expos Baseball Game at Memorial Field – Concession available

Friday, July 3rd

3:00 pm – Frog Jumping Contest (52nd Annual) at Gilman Park

4:30 pm – Patriotic Picnic – Food / Family / Community – at the Mellen City Garage

5:00-7:00 pm – Stars & Stripes Bingo at the Mellen City Garage

Time TBA – Iron City Miners Baseball Game vs Glidden Orioles Game at Memorial Field – Concession available

Saturday, July 4th

8:00 am – Pancake Breakfast at Most Holy Rosary Church

8:30 am – Bellringer Run/Walk (2 mile race) at Legion Memorial Library

9:00 am – Kiddie Parade (Mellen School Courts)

10:00 am – Kids Money Scramble at Gilman Park

10:00 am til 2:00 pm – Ice Cream Social at the Senior Center/Library

11:00 am – Roly Poly Dinner at the Mellen Fire Hall

11:00 am – 2:00 pm – Bloody Mary & Mimosa Bar at Dusty’s Bar

12:00 noon – Annual 4th of July Parade (Call 715-292-1509 to sign up)

1:00 / After the parade – Fire Truck Rides at the Mellen Fire Hall

2:30 pm – Annual 4th of July Baseball Game at Memorial Field – Concession available

6:00 pm – Cornhole Tournament at the Mellen City Garage

7:00 pm – Live Music by CAT 5 at the Mellen City Garage

8:00 pm – 50/50 Raffle – Friends of the Library Drawing at the Mellen City Garage

Dusk – Annual Fire Run

Dusk – FIREWORKS! lit off at Water Tower Hill
