Camping – If camping is your thing, Mellen is the place to be with campgrounds on area lakes.

Wildwood Haven Resort, Copper Falls State Park, Beaver Lake Recreation Area, Day Lake Recreation Area, East Twin Recreation Area, and Namekagon Lake Recreation Area.

Lakes – Mellen has several lakes nearby whether you like to go boating, camping, fishing, picnicking, or swimming. This is the place for you.

Beaver Lake, Caroline Lake, Day Lake, English Lake, East Twin, Gordon lake, Lake Eureka, Lake Galilee, Lake Superior, Lake Three, Long Lake, Loon Lake, Meder Lake, Mineral Lake, Namekagon Lake, Potter Lake, and Spillerberg Lake.

Natural Attractions – There are numerous Natural Attractions in and around Mellen. Come visit us when you visit them!

Caroline Lake Preserve, Chequamegon National Forest, Copper Falls State Park, Corrigan’s Lookout, Little Girls Point, Morgan Falls & St. Peter’s Dome, Mount Whittlesey, North Country Trail, Penokee Mountain Trail & Penokee Mountain Trail Overlook, Saxon Harbor, Tyler Forks Community Forest, and Wren Falls.

Trails – There are many trails in and around the Mellen Area where you can hike, bike, cross country ski, snowshoe, skijor, snowmobile, and ATV/UTV.

Black Lake, Day Lake, Forest Lodge, Morgan Falls & St Peter’s Dome, Mukwonago Trail, Namekagon Trail, Penokee Mountain Trail, Rock Lake Trail & Non-motorized Area, and North Country Scenic Trail.

ATV/UTV trail maps are available at the Mellen Chamber office. ATV/UTVs registered in Wisconsin do not require an ATV/UTV trail pass. ATV trail passes for non-residents (yearly or 5-day pass) can be purchased at Northland Foods in Mellen or online with the Wisconsin DNR.

Snowmobile trail maps are available at the Mellen Chamber office. Snowmobile trail passes can be purchased at Northland Foods in Mellen or online with the Wisconsin DNR. Trail passes are required for all snowmobiles. The price varies depending on if you are a resident of Wisconsin, a member of a Wisconsin snowmobile club affiliated with and recognized by the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs (AWSC)or a non-resident.
