Cross country ski or snowshoe this beautiful Penokee Range. Fishing or hunting can be another way to enjoy the surroundings. There are legendary sized whitetails in them thar hills.

The Mellen Rod & Gun Club is looking for girls/boys (no age limit) to sell tickets for the Annual Ice Fishing Contest to be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Lake Galilee. All contestants will receive 10% of their sales.
The person that sells the most tickets will receive 10% of their sales, a $ 50.00 gift certificate to any Mellen business of their choice, and will be crowned Ms./Mr. Four Seasons. Anyone interested please call Tanya Haderly at 1-715- 292-3030.
On January 10th, the Mellen Area Chamber of Commerce along with owner Robert Longfield held a ribbon cutting at his laundromat located at the Mellen Motel. The laundromat is open daily from 9AM to 9PM. Stop in and check it out! This facility is a well needed addition to Mellen. Welcome and best of luck Robert.

Area residents are invited to check out Mellen's new LAUNDROMAT during the MACC (Mellen Area Chamber of Commerce) ribbon cutting ceremony on January 10th.
Come early and stay late to check the place out. Ceremony is at 1:00 p.m.
