Go camping, rent a cabin, hike the North Country Trail. Mellen is a designated Trail City. The City of Mellen is both ATV and snowmobile friendly. Cross country ski or snowshoe this beautiful Penokee Range. Fishing or hunting can be another way to enjoy the surroundings. There are legendary sized whitetails in them thar hills.

National Night Out
For the first time ever, Ashland County Police department's annual National Night Out will be hosted in Mellen at Memorial Field behind the Mellen Public School at 420 S. Main Street Mellen WI 54546 on August 4th, 2026, from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Free food, games, face painting, ice cream, foam party, and obstacle course!
