The City of Mellen, Mellen Beautification and Mellen Area Chamber of Commerce invite all residents and businesses to join the fun and show off your Halloween spirit or autumn style in our annual Decorating Contest!
Judging will take place Wednesday evening, October 29, 2025. How to Enter: Text or call 715-292-1509. Decorate your home, yard, porch, or storefront. Registration is required. Open to all residents and businesses within Mellen city limits. Talk to your neighbors and spread the word!
Mellen is known for our Roly Poly’s, let’s keep the tradition alive. On October 18, 2025, the Mellen Area Chamber of Commerce will host Mellen’s annual Roly Poly contest at the Morse Town Hall. The chamber is putting out a challenge to see if this can be the best year ever! If you have won before, we challenge you to defend your title, if you haven’t taken the crown yet, this could be your year. We encourage individuals, families, or groups to enter. Our judging is ALWAYS done blind, so all is fair in love and Roly Poly’s! Prizes are 1st – $200.00, 2nd $100.00, and 3rd $50.00

WECA’s Early Childhood Education Business Builder Program provides financial support, free coaching, and resources. The new program provides nearly $8,000 for completing the requirements, a child care business training course, a toolkit with start-up materials, and access to a business coach. It is available in Ashland, Bayfield, Iron, Price, and Sawyer counties, where families increasingly need access to child care for their children.
