Candlelight Hike

Seek out the mysteries of the night as you walk along a one-mile stretch of trail where over 300 candle luminaries light the path. The festivities will include a traditional campfire fun and marshmallow roasting. If you wish to get into the holiday spirit, you may come dressed as a woodland animal, pumpkin, ghost, witch or another fun character. This a fun, family-friendly activity and open to all ages.

Friends of Copper Falls State Park will offer refreshments for sale, including chili, hot dogs, hot cocoa and cider, and a variety of sweet treats.

As dark descends along the candlelit trail, be courteous to others whose eyes are acclimated to night vision. If you must bring a light, use one equipped with a red light mode. Using a white light (flashlight and cellphone) is strongly discouraged because it reduces night vision for others nearby.

For Candlelight Walk parking, follow signs for Loon Lake beach & Red Granite Falls trail. It just beyond the park’s entry. All programs are free and open to the public; vehicle passes are required and available at the main entry station.*
