NOERTHERN AGED TRACTOR SHOW
The Northern Aged iron Tractor and Threshing Show will be held September 21 and 22 at the Northern Aged Iron showgrounds 38565 Stte Hwy 13, south of HighBridge.
There are plenty of events, rides, races planned with refreshments and food for sale, including a pancake breakfast on Sunday, 9;00 AM
There will be demonstrations all day long, an antique equiupment parade both days, along with a flea market and raffle.
A $5.00 button provides admission for both days. Ages 12 and under are free.For any additional information call 715-274-7807.

GEOLOGIC HISTORY AND HIKE AT COPPER FALLS STATE PARK
Join Tom Fitz, Northland College Professor of Geoscienc, who will be at Copper falls State Park on Friday Sept. 20 at 3:00 PM to explore the geology of the Park.
Fitz will provide an overview at the park's pavilion at 3:00 PM followed by a hike on the Doughboy's Trail.
the Program will be held rain or shine, dress appropriately. Children must be accompanied by an adult, no pets please.A state park admission sticker is required.

FALL FESTIVAL AT COPPER FALLS
Mark your calendar for Saturday Sept. 28 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
A special event this year will be a musical tribute from theCCC era presented by Bill Jamerson. He will be performing at noon at the pavilion.
Park admission is free. Come out for all the fun at Copper Falls State Park.

LIBRARY FALL BIZAAR
The Friends of the Library Fall Bazaar is coming up on Saturday Sept. 28th at the library in Mellen from 9;00 AM to noon.
The annual event includes the Quilt Plus Raffle, bake sale, tea table, used book sale and a craft project for the kids.
First prize in the raffle is a beautiful quilt made by Judy Gibson.Also included are many handmade and donated items. If you have donations please drop them off at the library during regular hours.
All proceeds from this fundraiser go to buy books and meet other library needs.

The Friends of Copper Falls State Park have begun rentals of kayaks and stand up paddleboards on Loon Lake.
Renting one is easy. Stop at the Park Office.
Rentals are available starting at 8:30 AM and ending at 7:00

Join the Chequamegon Area Choir for their 47th season.

EXPLORE A NATIONAL SCENIC TRAIL
Have you ever hiked on a National Scenic Trail? Here is your chance. Join members of the Chequamegon Chapter of the North Country Trail Association as they lead a variety of hikes in 2019.
Saturday July 27, 2010, 9:00AM to NooN Hidden Lake Hike
Meet hike leader, Mary Stenberg, at the parking area where the North Country Trail crosses the Delta Drummond Road, approximately 3 miles north of Drummond.
hike east along this scenic section of the trail where you pass 3 small inland lakes-Mirror, Esox and Overby.
this will be a 3.6 mile round trip hike.
Participants will have the option of walking 1 way, For only 1.8 miles, and then catch a shuttle back to the parking area, if they choose.
Saturday August 24, 2019, 1:00PM-4:00PM: Youth Hike
Meet hike leader, Cheryl Trieschman, at the Lake Three Campground parking area on Mineral Lake Road(FR187) where participants will hike east in search of plants, animals, bugs, and birds.
You never know what you may find in a walk in the woods. Cheryl plans on making this in and out hike a fun learning adventure.

Meet hike leader Ellie Williams, at the Copper Falls State Park Pavillion to start a 3-4 mile hike north along the NCT into the pristine Copper Falls State Natural Area.
Participants will need a state park sticker. Parking is available at the pavilion parking lot.
Come early to help the Chequamegon Chapter celebrate North Country Scenic trail Day and Friends of Copper Falls State Park's Fall Festival.

BOX TOPS
The Mellen school will again be collecting Box Tops for the 2018-2019 school year.
Collection sites include Northland Foods, SCCU, Northern State Bank, Dollar General and the school. Your labels become money to help purchase equipment and supplies for the entire Mellen School.

NOTICE TRI-M SANITARY RECYCLING CUSTOMERS
Effective immediately, tires must be removed from all metal brought into Tri-M for recycling.
items such as bikes, lawn mowers, etc., will not be accepted unless the tires are removed.
Tires can be disposed of for a variable fee; rate is determined by tire size.
Tri-M Sanitary/Recycling will hold their regular monthly meeting on Monday Jan. 14, 2019 at 6:15 PM in the office/ conference room at the Tri-M building.

PENOKEE MOUNTAIN RANGE CLASSIC BIKE ROAD RACE & Tour
Saturday July 27, 2019 REGISTRATION: 7:30-9:30 a.m. at the public school entrance off Fayette Ave. in Mellen. RACE ENTRY FEE: Early registration $35.00 until race day July 27, then $40.00 day of race. AWARDS: plaques/medals for male and female winners. 1st 2nd & 3rd place in 5 year increments. An award ceremony will be held at the school following the race. No awards will be mailed. TIMING: Wisport RJ Ochmann RACE ROUTE COURSE DESCRIPTION: Approximately 47 miles of paved roads through the Penokee Range, traversing rolling hills and flat terrain. Additional services are pace car, 2 sag wagons, and water station. Ashland Co. and Mellen Police Depts. helping when and where necessary. Great Divide and Mellen Ambulances on call.
