BELLRINGER RUN
The Friends of the Library are asking for your business or family support for the 38th annual Bellringer to be held on July 4th. This year it will be Dedicated in Memory of Joan Airoldi, Legion Memorial Library Director from 1972-1981


Ashland’s 4th of July Celebration: 07/04/2023 The Lions club will be on the courthouse lawn cooking brats during the parade. Ashland Monday Club will be selling lemonade and cookies from 10Am til the Parade End at Menard Park. Parade at 11am on Main Street. Registration form. Chequamegon Bay Jazz Collective Concert at the Mesang Band Shell 7:30pm. Ashland Fire run at 9:30pm on Historic Main Street. Followed by Ashland Fireworks display over Chequamegon Bay at approx. 10pm. 07/04/2023 A Full Day of Events: The Madeline Island 4th of July celebration starts at 10:30am with a parade that includes entries from firetrucks and ambulances to family reunion marching units. Following the parade, there is a program on the village green in front of the Madeline Island Museum which includes the band, a choir, group singing of patriotic songs and speeches appropriate to the occasion. This is a not-to-be-missed program and also includes the awarding of all the parade trophies. Our spectacular fireworks begin at dark, which this far north is almost 10pm. The light show is synched to music, boats are out floating at anchor in the harbor, and the magic takes over. The fireworks truly are a community effort with fundraising to cover their cost taking place all year long. If you want to be a part of this event, make plans now. NOTICE TRI-M SANITARY RECYCLING CUSTOMERS
Effective immediately, tires must be removed from all metal brought into Tri-M for recycling.
items such as bikes, lawn mowers, etc., will not be accepted unless the tires are removed.
Tires can be disposed of for a variable fee; rate is determined by tire size.

PENOKEE MOUNTAIN RANGE CLASSIC BIKE ROAD RACE & Tour
Saturday REGISTRATION: 8:30-9:45 a.m. at the Mellen Rod and Gun Club a short distance South of Mellen on Highway 13. RACE ENTRY FEE: Early registration $35.00 until race day July ?, 2023, then $45.00 day of race. AWARDS: plaques/medals for male and female winners. 1st 2nd & 3rd place in 5 year increments. An award ceremony will be held at the school following the race. No awards will be mailed. TIMING: Wisport RJ Ochmann RACE ROUTE COURSE DESCRIPTION: Approximately 47 miles of paved roads through the Penokee Range, traversing rolling hills and flat terrain. Additional services are pace car, 2 sag wagons, and water station. Ashland Co. and Mellen Police Depts. helping when and where necessary. Mellen Ambulances on call. Lunch after Race TBD.
